Martin Luther King, Jr is such an important figure in the history of civil rights in the US. He grew up here in Atlanta and many important landmarks of his life still remain. I took a little journey to the Auburn Historic District where many of these landmarks lie. There is also a MLK memorial here. If you’re ever in Atlanta, you should definitely take a look.

Agnes Scott College

Agnes Scott College is an all female liberal arts college in Decatur, GA. The campus is beautiful and a great location for a portrait session. I took a walk around the campus a few weeks ago. Here’s what I saw:

Oakland Cemetery

This cemetery is one of the many historic cemeteries in Georgia. It’s my favorite in the Atlanta area. Of course I’ve only been to two so far. Several famous people are buried here, such at Margaret Mitchell and Bobby Jones. It’s very close to downtown and there is a MARTA train that can be kind of noisy right next to the cemetery, but I still find it peaceful. And as some of you know, I am kind of obsessed with cemeteries for their beauty and peacefulness.

February 2012 – Volunteering has it’s own rewards

February’s Project is all about the Georgia Aquarium. I started volunteering here in January and have been spending a lot of time here. It’s a fun place to go and I think I’ve gotten some great pics here!
